HMCS NENE MAIN

John Callin model of HMCS Beacon Hill and Steve Martin model of HMCS Ontario

John Callin took the first two photos of his HMCS Beacon Hill model while it was under construction in November of 2004. He next plans to build a similar, 75 inch, working model of HMCS Nene. John retired from the Canadian Forces in 1995, and enjoys building reproductions of Canadian ships.
His family friend, Rick Banwell, served with George (Sandy) Donaldson, an ex-Nene crewmember, on two tours aboard HMCS Ontario after the War.

Steve Martin built his 1/96th scale model of HMCS Ontario in the early 1990s. It is floated and radio controlled on a lake near Nanaimo on a regular basis.
