Robert Jaeger - ERA 4th Class
Robert Jaeger was born in Verdun, Quebec on May 17,1916 and was educated at Verdun High School. Bob married Elsbeth Jorgenson in January 1942. They had a son that died in infancy. He spent five years in the navy and joined HMCS Nene in Halifax in July 1944. Upon his return from the navy Bob worked for Canada Malting Company in Thunder Bay for 38 years. Bob retired from the company in Montreal in 1980. He met Pearl Smith from Hamilton, Ontario and they were married in December 1981. Pearl had three children. Bob became grandfather to ten grandchildren and a great grandfather to one great granddaughter. Bob passed away October 20, 1990 at the London University Hospital and his remains are buried in Hamilton, Ontario. Bob received the Coronation Medal from the Queen in London, England, and the Russian medal from the Russian ambassador in Hamilton.
